Emma Charlotte Duerre Watson born to British lawyers Jacqueline Luesby & Chris Watson in Paris, France. After relocating to Oxfordshire when she was five, Emma attended The Dragon School. Emma was aspired to be a professional actress from the age of at the age of six. She was enrolled at Stagecoach Theatre Arts in Oxford, an acting institute that offers part-time classes. In a school play and a Stagecoach Production, Emma took the lead at the age 10, and acted. Casting began in 1999 for Harry Potter and the Sorcerers Stone (2001) the film adaptation of British author J.K. Rowling's bestselling novel. Casting agents found Emma via her Oxford theatre instructor. David Heyman told Emma along with Rupert Grint, Daniel Radcliffe after having 8 consecutive auditions. Emma's debut film coincided with the release Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone (2002). It broke all records in terms of opening day and weekend numbers, and was the top-grossing 2001 film. Film critics praised the film as well as its performances by the three leading young actors. The well-known British newspaper The Daily Telegraph called her performances admirable. Emma received the Young Artist Award as the leading young actress in an Feature Film. Emma was recognized five times in recognition of her part in the film.
